Blogtember 30: September 30

Blogtember 30:  Picture this, you’ve been stopped on the street by the photographer of Humans of New York, and he asks, “What advice would you give to a large group of people?” Share a picture of yourself along with the advice.

My advice to others will be never settle!  I have learned the hard way that settling gets you nowhere and that it only bring unhappiness.  I have settled in relationships that I found comfortable because I thought I could not do better, I have settled for unfair pay and in a job that was not fulfilling me.  There are so many things that you can settle with but don’t just don’t.  You will have so much stress and unrest from it.  I have learned that once I feel complacent or like I am settling then it is time to move on and look for greener pastures.  Once I become complacent I feel trapped, stuck, and unproductive.  It hinders me and eventually causes me to feel like I am not making a difference or pushing my life forward.  Now when I feel like I am settling I begin to change and like for better things.  There is no reason for me to just stay in a job or with something because it is there at the moment.  There is always something bigger and better within reach and that is what I need to strive to do.  You need to strive for it too and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish!

The One Reason I Quit Teaching

This post is great! I am a teacher and part of it sums up some things I think especially the “we are in a people business not a numbers business.  This piece highlights the current frustrations that teachers face and how politics is beginning to take over the teaching realm. No longer can the teacher be creative or free spirited; now they are bound by rules, regulations, common core, and unfair evaluations.  This article sums up the current things teachers face and how Teachers as well as others should read this!

September means apples, bulletin boards, foliage, name tags, a new class and everything else about going back-to-school! After over thirty years of starting the fall in a classroom, as a student or teacher, I decided to take a break this year. I taught for thirteen years all over Oregon, and it was not an easy decision to take a year off from teaching. We moved from Oregon to Texas and I knew that now was the time to step back. It’s now been two months since school started for the rest of my world, and I have had time reflect upon the decision to change careers. I can now articulate the many things I miss about teaching and the one thing that I do not.

Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher. There were moments when I saw myself as a lawyer, a rodeo cowgirl, a photojournalist, a…

Blogtember 27: Something that made you laugh or cry recently. It could be a video, a picture, a post, a memory. Anything that moved you.

Well, life and friends have made me questions things, laugh, and cry . I think I have been experiencing so many feelings it is crazy. Well I guess it was more realizations than feelings.  I have realized that my friends from high school and up north do not give two shits about me since I have moved.  They have just left me out of things and have not tried to keep in contact with me.  the only time they reach out is when they need something or during the annual Christmas card sending.  I mean it is what it is and I somehow need to come to terms with this and how the friendship is not going to be the same.  it is not going to be what it once was due to my location and I guess changes like friends getting married, in relationships, and putting no effort into the friendship. I think the following quotes sums things up nicely but it doesn’t make things any better or make my feelings any better.

My life has been going through changes and tough times recently.  Well not major life changing things but more like stuck in a rut things.  I feel like my life has been progressing like a turtle stuck in molasses.  That slow seriously and many other friends or families lives moving at warp speed and it stinks.  I feel happy for them and all of their hard work but no matter what I do, networking, job applications etc. I can not catch a break job wise and it is the most frustrating thing I have been dealing with and i feel that I am just stuck.  I have contemplated my job situation and where to go from here and everywhere I look it seems to just dead end or not pan out.  The following quote kind of sums up what I feel and it is the  feeling so far.

Monday, Sept. 26: Grab a guest post. Let’s have a friend share our space for the day.

I do not like guests posts or rather I do not have anyone to do a guest post at the moment.  So, I will fill this post with quotes from good TV shows because that is the mood I am in right now.  The TV shows in no particular order are: Grey’s Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, House, The West Wing, and

Review something! A place, a book, a service, a product. Anything at all!

So, I need to get around to finishing Blogtember even though it is the middle October.  I am almost done with it and I want to get back to writing regular posts.

I am going to review three new makeup products I have purchased.

Tartiest Lash Paint Masacra by Tarte

tarte

I have loved using this product when doing my makeup.  I was looking for a different type of mascara and one that would not irritate my eyes.  My eyes are sensitive to certain products and chemicals.  Many massacres I use have caused my eyes to turn red, tear up, or be itchy.  this brand has not caused any eye irritation after I have worn it for a whole day or for a night out.

I love the style of the massacre tube and the applicator is great.  It does not leave my eyelashes clumpy.  I normally apply two coats of mascara on my top lashes and none on my bottom lashes.  My lashes are long and I do not need to apply to the bottom lashes.  Plus it will be a disaster.  I found that the price for this mascara is average for a good quality product.  I have loved using this mascara.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick: Morning After

morning-after

Both lipstick colors are amazing and look good on me.  I am a simple makeup person and wear the basics mascara, eyeshadow, and lipstick.  I do not pick crazy colors or go to out of the box.  My style is simple and natural.  Both colors are natural looking and add just the right amount of color.  These last a significant amount of the day but not the whole day.  I do have to reapply the color to my lips.  The prices reasonable and is a goos price for the quality of the product.  In the future  I will purchase more colors from Urban Decay.  I would like to try new colors out the next time I buy.  If you have any recommendations on Urban Decay Lipstick Colors please let me know in the comments below.

Cover Girl Lash Exact Mascara

This mascara is a great find but it is not my favorite.  It does last all day but I do get clumps from it.  It does not irate my eyes if I wear it for shorter periods. It is a good buy for the price and can be found at most drugstores.  I would like to try more mascaras from Cover Girl because I have not used many products from this line.

L’Oreal Colour Riche: 444 Tropical Coral

This line of lipstick is classic.  My grandma used to use L’Oreal lipstick and the tubes of lipstick are memorable and iconic for me.  I do not know what colors she used but I always remembered these lipstick tubes and they have not changed. This is one of my favorite products of the moments!  I love this color!  I have not tried these colors before or this lipstick line but now I know why my grandma was a fan!  The color is fantastic and natural looking on me if I apply one or two coats.  This goes on nice and last for majority of the day.  I do need to reapply it for the color to last.  I will be trying more colors from this line soon!
